Jony Captions ("Service") is operated by Yonathan Helperin (יונתן הלפרין), a licensed business in Israel ("Company", "we", "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

1.1 Information You Provide:

1.2 Information Collected Automatically:

  • •Cookies (web editor only, for functionality)

1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect:

  • •WhatsApp contacts or chat history
  • •Personal photos or files (only videos you explicitly send)
  • •Location data
  • •Financial information (free service)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • •Process and caption your videos
  • •Provide AI transcription services
  • •Save your style and language preferences
  • •Improve our Service and fix bugs
  • •Respond to support requests
  • •Send you your processed videos via WhatsApp

3. AI Processing

  • •Your video audio is processed by AI transcription services (OpenAI Whisper, Groq)
  • •Audio is sent to third-party AI providers solely for transcription
  • •AI providers do not store your audio after processing
  • •Transcription results are stored temporarily to enable editing

4. Data Storage & Retention

Retention Periods:

  • •Videos: Stored temporarily during processing, automatically deleted within 24 hours
  • •Transcription data: Stored for up to 7 days to allow re-editing
  • •User preferences: Stored indefinitely (phone number + style/language choice)
  • •Message logs: Retained for maximum 90 days; WhatsApp/Meta message logs are governed by their retention policies (30-90 days)

Data Deletion Instructions:

Step 1: Send the message "delete my data" to our WhatsApp number: +1 (844) 321-8057

Step 2: You will receive confirmation within 24 hours

Step 3: All your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days

What gets deleted: Phone number, preferences (style, language), transcription data, temporary video files, and all processing logs.

Limitations: WhatsApp/Meta message logs are governed by their privacy policies; data already processed by AI providers (OpenAI, Groq) cannot be retrieved, but is not stored after transcription processing is complete.

Data is also automatically deleted upon 12 months of inactivity.

WhatsApp Data Flow:

Your WhatsApp messages are protected as follows:

  • •End-to-End Encryption (E2EE): All messages are encrypted using the Signal protocol. Meta cannot read message content.
  • •Metadata: Phone number, message timestamp, and delivery status are NOT end-to-end encrypted and are visible to Meta/WhatsApp.
  • •Once received by our server, messages are processed according to this privacy policy.

5.5 Explicit Opt-In Consent

By sending your first message to Jony Captions on WhatsApp, you explicitly consent to:

  • •Receiving automated responses from our service
  • •Automated AI processing of your video audio and captions (transcription, editing, rendering)
  • •Storage of your phone number and user preferences (style, language)
  • •Receiving WhatsApp messages about your requests and caption delivery
  • •Data processing as described in this Privacy Policy

You may withdraw this consent at any time by sending "stop" to our WhatsApp number.

6. Data Security

  • •Videos processed in isolated environments
  • •Database access restricted to authorized systems only

14. Automated Service Scope

Jony Captions is a task-specific automated service, not a general-purpose chatbot or conversational AI. Our service is designed to:

  • •Generate caption styles
  • •Render and deliver captions

This service is compliant with Meta's 2026 WhatsApp Business Platform policy, which permits task-specific automated services while restricting general-purpose chatbots. We do not engage in open-ended conversations or general AI chat.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. We will notify users of material changes via WhatsApp or the website. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
